HD VIDEO MODE
SHOOTING AT 5.3FPS
ISO Range of 100 to 6400 (Expandable up to 12,000)
The wide range of ISO settings enables the EOS 60D to capture properly illuminated photos across a variety of lighting conditions. You can expand the ISO range right up to 12,800 with custom functions. Thanks to improved high sensitivity optimization, you can shoot crisp images at high shutter speeds even in low light conditions. The images will appear to be less blurry and grainy even without the use of a flash or a tripod. If you want to achieve optimal exposure in bright scenes such as long exposure in daylight, you can use a completely open wide diameter lens without a dark filter.
Enhanced EOS HD Video Mode
When shooting a video, you can take advantage of all the features that a standard DSLR offers. The EOS 60D grants you access to shooting options that were thought to be reserved only for still photography. It offers manual controls and access to a range of Canon EF and EF S lenses, including the macro and fisheye lenses. With so many features on offer, rest assured that your high definition videos will look realistic and stunning even when captured in complex lighting scenarios. The Movie Crop function lets you trim SD videos (640 x 480) to about 7x magnification of regular shooting. Along with a wind filter that cuts out the background noise, the EOS 60D also provides you with automatic and manual audio control and up to 64 audio levels to choose from. The quick Control button brings up the main LCD a simplistic GUI that lets you adjust the image quality, white balance, image creation, and other such settings. You can even edit your captured videos on the camera itself.
3 Inch Vari Angle Clear View LCD Monitor
Featuring a completely adjustable 3 Inch Vari Angle Clear View LCD monitor, the EOS 60D enables you to shoot from a wide range of angles. You can easily switch between high and low angles when shooting with a tripod, or when the camera has a battery grip attached.
Continuous Shooting at 5.3fps
The EOS 60D operates with such speed and precision that it makes shooting fast paced scenes effortless. The camera has a startup time of just 0.1 seconds, and features quick autofocus capabilities and a shutter with minimal lag. With a speed of 5.3 frames per second, the EOS 60D can capture up to 58 Large/JPEG images and 16 RAW images in a single burst. This ensures that you do not miss out on even the slightest part of the action.
Brilliant Viewfinder with 96 Percent Coverage
Offering up to 96 percent coverage, a magnification of 0.95x, a 27 dgree angle of view, and controllable dioptric adjustment, the redesigned viewfinder of the EOS 60D lets you precisely frame and compose your shots. The transparent LCD display enables you to overlay a number of functions in the readout. You can view a six level battery meter on the left of the readout. Up to three additional stops have been provided on the exposure level indicator scale, with the arrows pointing towards higher exposure levels. The horizontal Exposure Level meter superimposes an image on the LCD readout which lets you know of the horizontal tilt in 1 dgree increments, with a total scale of 9 dgree. This helps you achieve accurately leveled shots.
High Performance AF System
The 63 zone Dual layer sensor of the EOS 60D works with the 9 point AF system. It takes into account the luminosity and color intensity of the areas around the selected AF points for delivering accurate results even in difficult lighting scenarios. The color measurement function of the metering sensor eliminates the glitches and issues related to focus and exposure that are caused by light sources of varying intensities. This means the EOS 60D can excel in video recording where the ambient light changes from shot to shot, such as in a concert hall or a movie theatre. It can efficiently balance the main subject’s exposure to the background, which prevents photos from being completely washed out due to overexposure or blacked out due to underexposure. An X sync speed of 1/250 sec enables the external flash to fire precisely at the exact moment the shutter is fully open, enabling you to confidently capture clear images in both bright and dim lighting conditions.
Photo Effects and Image Conversion
When you want to send some photos across the Internet, using a small file format such as JPEG would be convenient. The EOS 60D enables you to convert the RAW files into JPEG ones and store them separately. You can select from among 10 process variables namely, brightness adjustment, Picture Style, white balance, Auto Lighting Optimizer, noise reduction, color space, JPEG image recording quality, lens peripheral illumination correction, distortion correction and chromatic aberrations correction. Using this camera, you can create the image you want, that too in the 3:2 aspect ratio native to 35mm film. What’s more, you can even add digital effects to the images on the camera itsel
SD/SDHC/SDXC Card Compatibility
For saving high definition images, you may need to use more than one source of memory when you go on long trips. In this case, you can carry popular SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards with you as they are all compatible with the EOS 60D. These cards are compact, inexpensive, and available with extensive storage capacities.
