I am sitting here pondering things when I know that It shouldn't be any situation of which leaves wondering. Reality issues surround us with deep thoughts of, why can't we make the right paths and emerge from our decisions? Why can't we interact with others of different backgrounds? Are skin bleeds the same color, the last I checked. Lamaria Corbin is my name, I apologize for rambling on about my thoughts or questions on a day to day basis. It feels as If a trance comes over me when being awake, drifting off to a imaginary land in my head .Born on June 6,1975, my parents are Maria Sands & Michael Corbin he's white/black and she's black they met while in college. Growing up was pretty conventional to me, mom stayed home, where as dad owned the family business called Corway. The business specialized in providing auto parts, similar to AutoZone but we were cheaper with better customer service. At an early age being different than others made me a loner, looking into the perfect family portrait until the day my mom left my dad for another man who didn't have a job nor a stable place for us to lay our heads. I said "mom, why did you leave dad for this lifestyle? "Her response wasn't what I was expecting to hear until a pause, she sighs, and then it came out "he was on drugs and secretly seeing other people " Not understanding how could he mess up our picture perfect family? My mom became what she left him for, a drug addict, prostitute, with a passion that didn't include me at all. Growing up young was not an option more like a sentence, that gets thrown in your lap. why me? At age 7, no place to stay, eating three meals from the local grocery store dumpster, school wasn't an option. One day mom wanted a fix but know cash, and the drug dealer wanted to do a even trade with me, for a piece of what I had between my legs. Mom no! Please! No mom! She didn't seem to care, to see my tears streaming down my cheeks hitting man made concrete. I was worth 20.00 but the lost is priceless for years to come. When I was 4 years old my mom told me "never let someone or something take control of you " what you lose in the process can't be retrieved.
